Kalsi trip : Final

In Events, This and That on July 13, 2006 at 1:54 pm

Stay:

We are doing the bookings in Dak Patthar which is 10 kms before Kalsi. I think 3 double rooms would be enough as we are 7 people 100% confirmed so far.

4 guys can adjust in 2 double rooms and we 3 girls can adjust in one double room… if 2 – 3 people more, say amit verma, abhishek bhawsar, santosh, can make it at the last minuite then also it should not be a problem…….
Budget:

So 3 Non AC double rooms (Rs. 600) For one day. That will cost us around Rs 300/- per head or may be a little more than that. The car would cost around Rs. 7000/-. So that would be around Rs. 1000/- per head. Overall the trip should be comfortably done in maximum Rs.1700-1800/-

How do we move:

The check in / out times are 12 pm. We would reach Dak patthar quite early in the morning. Would have break fast and get freshen up in a dhaba (they have toilets too) if they allow us to check in before 12pm but not charge for two days we woud do that (delhi office that much adjustment can be done) othewise we’d take a round of Kalsi, take a walk along the river or see the ashoke edict and check in at lunch time…

Same day evening we can think of goin for a night trek provided the weather allows. Everybody carry torch and candles. Sunday can be planned on saturday night ……. lots of options are available…….

About Food and Bonfire

We have tentatively planned for home cooked food, courtsey Amit’s house maid…. it would be final only when he is back from baroda…probably on thursday…….

As for now the plan is like this… that we pool in for the ingredients and also pay her (the cook) for the extra labour she’d put in. Let the menu be simple and easy on pocket. I suggest Chicken, Paneer, Dal, another seasonal vegetable, Rice and Salad and Gujiya (this we would buy from halwaai).

For Bonfire, we need to buy woods………have no idea how much that would come to …….. any body any idea please lemme know…….

Daaru and Smoke…….. to each his own.

We expect people to stay up all night but its safer to get some sort of bed sheets, and looking at the weather, some thing warm may be a shawl or a light blanket. While Amit’s place is big enough he may not have enough Bedding……….

Music……. we have our official laptop (Ramit are you listening) so get your fav CDs……..

Tambola/Housie……… if anybody have any of the two and you are willing to carry them please lemme know by 17th late evening…….so that otherwise we can buy it out of the pool………

Fund….. everybody please carry enough cash so that we can settle the expenses then and there only and not keep it pending……

What else…….lemme know if I’m forgetting something…..

Happy Holi guys………have fun……and do spare a few moments thinking about them who aint fortunate enough to celebrate the way we do and what can you do for them…….

2nd letsgo Meet

In This and That on February 18, 2006 at 9:51 am

The 2nd Lets go meet was also fun. Held in Dilli Haat, on 17 Feb 2006, 6:30 p.m. The agenda was to finalize everything for Corbett and get the tickets done. Tickets have been booked and we are 10 people who would go. I hope this turns out to be fun. This is the first group outing and if all ends well, we might arrange some more trips so that people who missed the trip this time can join in.

Last evening, the meet was attended by Abhishek, Monica, Kreeti, Asheeth, me, Sundeep. Sundeep had come for the first time. The more and more all of us are meeting, the more comfortable we are getting. Good.

By the way, we had coffee, tea and chicken kathi roll from Fresh and Honest Coffee in Dilli haat. And I must tell you that I have kind of started hating coffee now, because after that coffee, I could not sleep till 3 a.m. in the morning. Was rolling on my bed. I do not know about the other guys.

So next time if we are meeting in the evening, no coffee for me.

Smile

Stay Connected Everyone

In This and That on February 14, 2006 at 1:55 pm

The first letsgo meet was good fun. Attended by 6 members and 2 non-members. But active participation by all. It was great.

We are all planning for the first group outing, hopefully most of us will be able to join and go to Corbett National Park. Infact, this group was formed for backpackers. But till now nothing had shaped up. But now things are changing. And they are changing for good.

Lets keep an eye on it…will continue after coming back…stay connected till then.
